As the international break is almost over and the Chelsea players return to Cobham, here’s the team news. While a lot of players were plying their trade for their nations, a good few were at the club and took to regular training.
It was a much-deserved break for some given the hectic schedule this season.
There were a few familiar faces at training while three looked to return from injury. As Chelsea gear up for West Brom on Saturday, here are some of the injury updates that were visible during training (h/t Football.london).
The former PSG man was taken off in the Tottenham game with a thigh issue and has been an absentee since.
We got to see the Brazilian on the bench against Everton before he was again deemed injured. Nonetheless, he trained with the squad as they prepared for the West Brom game and chances are that he could feature in some capacity.
The youngster is having a tough sophomore season and injuries have done little to ease the pain. An unfortunate tackle in the Newcastle game meant that he could only play limited minutes in the next game before being ruled out entirely. He has also returned to training and could be slowly eased into the setup.
The Italian’s injury was confirmed ahead of the international break, with the player being absent for the Sheffield United game and subsequently from Italy’s squad. However, he looks to have recuperated well and was seen in training.
