Transfer News: Chelsea still keeping tabs on Gianluigi Donnarumma

According to transfer news from Football.london, Chelsea are still keeping tabs on Gianluigi Donnarumma and his situation at AC Milan. They have begun talks with his agent, Mino Raiola about a transfer next season. Manchester United are also said to be after the goalkeeper.

Donnarumma is yet to agree on a contract extension, with his current deal set to expire at the end of this season. It could be the case that he eventually signs a new contract but the fact that it has dragged on for this long with just a few months left means that sides like Man United and Chelsea are waiting to snap him up.

Chelsea could look to sign the keeper despite needing players in other positions such as central defence and centre-forward. Another big question would be the future of Kepa Arrizabalaga if Donnarumma arrives.

Chelsea have thrown big money on keepers in the last few seasons, with Kepa and Edouard Mendy arriving at the Bridge.

While Mendy is the first-choice now, Donnarumma would be the first choice for the next 8-10 years if he signs. His arrival would push Kepa further down the pecking order.

The 22-year-old and his agent are pushing for an £8m-per-year wage packet. With his current deal ending in over a year, Milan will have to come to a decision soon. Clubs like Chelsea would not mind shelling that amount for a keeper with so much potential.
