Thomas Tuchel has talked to Tammy Abraham about his situation at Chelsea
According to Daily Mail, Thomas Tuchel is said to have had a one-on-one talk with out-of-favour Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham. There has been a lot of speculation over Abraham’s future given that he has fallen to the fringes under Tuchel.
Abraham broke into the first-team last season under Frank Lampard and was a vital part of the side that finished fourth. With a transfer ban last season, Abraham made full use of the opportunities handed to him and went on to score 15 goals.
However, the England international has seen his place slip down after the arrival of Thomas Tuchel and Timo Werner.
The likes of Werner, Kai Havertz and Olivier Giroud have been preferred ahead of the academy graduate. However, Tuchel is revealed to have had talks and reassured the lanky forward.
‘We had some talks to encourage him to never give in, to accept the situation, to not overthink it, to just come back to the situation where the striker must not overthink it. He just needs to be in the flow and if the team is winning without him then you can feel a little bit excluded.
‘But it’s not like this with him so hopefully he can be back now, back in the squad, be totally free and there’s some hard choices and he’s a part of the group.
It’s been hard for him because he’s never felt fully free, never felt fully painless after this tackle so it was hard for him to really perform on the level that you need to perform in training to convince your coach to leave somebody else out.’

Tuchel added that the tactics he has used since joining the club haven’t been helpful for the player. Given all the chopping and changing we have done this season, Tuchel admitted that he is still figuring out what works best and Tammy has been a casualty of that.
