However, only once he has appeared under Thomas Tuchel in an FA Cup game against Barnsley, playing just 21 minutes. Despite not appearing much for the first-team much, Anjorin was not allowed to leave on loan in January as Tuchel felt he could be of use at the club.

While he was on the bench during the Everton game, he has hardly been used by Tuchel. Nonetheless, he could be set for an appearance when Chelsea take on Sheffield United in the FA Cup quarter-final.

“He had some minutes against Barnsley in the FA Cup game and we try to involve him in the group against Sheffield because he trains very well. We decided to keep him [in January] to get to know him better. Not to send him on loan or find another solution for him in winter.

“I am happy about that. I feel him very strong in finishing in training. He is a very nice character. A nice guy from the academy, another nice guy, very humble and at the same time totally focused, totally clear when you talk to him. Very self-aware.”
