Thomas Tuchel warns Chelsea about the threat from Marcos Llorente
According to Evening Standard, Thomas Tuchel has asked Chelsea to be wary of the threat posed by Marcos Llorente when they face Atletico Madrid. The Blues have a crucial second leg to navigate through after taking a one-goal lead in the first leg.
Chelsea are 90 minutes away from the Champions League quarter-final. They are almost favourites to make it through, boasting of a lead and an away goal too.
Olivier Giroud’s stunning overhead goal did all the damage in Madrid. However, one man poses a huge threat for the La Liga giants and that is none other than Marcos Llorente.
The Atleti midfielder was singlehandedly responsible for knocking out Liverpool last year with goals in extra time. His twin strikes in added time meant that Atleti were winning the tie on a 4-2 aggregate.
Even though the Rojiblancos did not pose much of a threat in the first leg, Tuchel will be wary this time given they have to score at least one goal to get back into the game. He is rightfully concerned about the threat from Llorente, who could get to play in his favoured midfield position.

By no means is the tie over as Atleti are proven performers in Europe. They boast of star names that can alter the game in a flash. Chelsea will have to make sure they contain Llorente in a way that he cannot affect the proceedings. This could be one of Tuchel’s toughest tests yet as Blues boss.
