Thomas Tuchel admits he is at fault for Christian Pulisic’s reduced minutes
According to Football.london, Thomas Tuchel admits that he is at fault for the lack of game time for Christian Pulisic. It was only a handful of minutes that Pulisic got in the Everton game after coming on for Timo Werner in the 90th minute.
Chelsea claimed another victory as they swatted aside Everton in what was their 8th win in 11 games under Thomas Tuchel. A Ben Godfrey own goal and a Jorginho penalty were enough to seal all three points to pick up this vital win.
Thomas Tuchel’s rotation policy was again on display as the likes of Kai Havertz and Kurt Zouma were brought back into the fold. However, Christian Pulisic was again missing in action as he was only called on in the dying minutes of the game.
The American has found game time hard to come by under Tuchel and the latter provided an explanation for the same.
“Yes, I can say nothing else but good things about him. Maybe his biggest problem is that I know him from Dortmund and I think he started only in the cup games.
It is my responsibility and it is a bit unfair but I know what impact he can have in the last 20 or 30 minutes. He was a bit unlucky in the last few games. It isn’t a lack of trust or quality, it is just that he will have to be patient.”

While it is understandable that Pulisic is being asked to wait for his chances, the fact remains that Tuchel’s 3-4-2-1 formation has no place for the wide man.
He is unsuited to playing as a wing-back and cannot use his talents as a winger in the central areas. It’s actually very concerning as to how Tuchel will use Pulisic in the future and make use of his talent.
