Alphonso Davies drops a subtle hint of Chelsea transfer
According to Express, Alphonso Davies might have dropped a hint of a Chelsea transfer in the future. The Bayern Munich full-back went on to say that his father is a Chelsea fan, which was enough to throw fans into a frenzy over his future.
At just 19 years of age, Davies took Europe by storm last season as he played a huge part in Bayern Munich’s treble-winning campaign. Playing from left-back, he was still able to affect proceedings in the final third. The defender did not drop the ball on his defensive duties though.
It does seem far-fetched to see Bayern letting go of such an exciting player with loads of potential. Yet, all it took was his admission that his father is a Chelsea fan to drive speculation from fans.
“As you guys know, my Dad was a Chelsea fan so I’m watching Chelsea. I’m going to sit down and commentate the whole game.”
However, it does not make sense for Chelsea to pursue the left-back. They recently signed Ben Chilwell for big money during the summer while having the likes of Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri in the ranks.

Sure, Davies would be a fantastic signing but the variables make this one deal that is hard to complete. Bayern are unlikely to let him go and Chelsea have enough depth in that position, not requiring further investment.
