Juventus could look to sign Jorginho from Chelsea
According to Tuttosport (h/t ESPN), Chelsea midfielder Jorginho is the subject of interest for Juventus. The Bianconeri have lined up a list of names to pursue in the summer for a revamp and the Italian is among those names. Manuel Locatelli is also a name they have considered.
The 29-year-old moved to Chelsea in 2018 along with manager Maurizio Sarri. Jorginho struggled in his first season as he looked a bit slow for the fast-paced nature of the Premier League. His form improved over the last season and he was one of Frank Lampard’s most trusted players.
This season, however, despite starting strongly, he has gone off the radar a bit. Since then, he has been in and out of the team and has often featured sporadically. Under Thomas Tuchel, the duo of N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic have fared better in a two-man central midfield in recent games, putting Jorginho’s position in relative doubt.
Juventus are looking to refresh their midfield option in the summer as they look towards a squad overhaul. The Old Lady are very likely to be pipped to the Serie A title this season which would end their status as defending champions after so many consecutive titles.

It remains to be seen what Chelsea make of the situation and Jorginho’s future. They do have Kante, Kovacic and the young Billy Gilmour at their disposal. There are also the likes of Conor Gallagher and Ruben Loftus-Cheek who are out on loan and performing well. Thomas Tuchel will have to evaluate his midfield options at the end of the season.
