Roy Keane compares Mason Mount to Man United legend Paul Scholes

The midfielder has continued to impress for Chelsea in recent weeks after Thomas Tuchel taking over.

One of Lampard’s most trusted charges, Mount’s position in the side became sort of uncertain when the manager was sacked and Tuchel came in. However, he has shown that he can cut it under the demanding manager also and has become one of the regulars amidst the chopping and changing of Tuchel.

Roy Keane was mighty impressed with Mount’s display over the last few games and showered him with some praises.

“We’ve been praising this lad now for the last number of years. The way he plays the game, almost like Paul Scholes, plays like a kid on the street, it all comes very easy for him. Good first touch, seems an honest kid, he has a goal in him, he has an assist.

“There’s no surprise this lad is playing, when the manager came he would have had a look at him before. You get a better look when you work with the lads closely and again, no surprise that he’s going to go for this lad in most of the big games because he can trust him. He’s a top player and seems like a very good professional and an honest kid.”

The youngster has contributed to 10 goals in the league and has been used in a much more advanced role this season, almost in the forward line. He has become a very potent option for Tuchel this term and hopefully continues this mercurial growth.
