Chelsea set to spend another £260m as Abramovich eyes Erling Haaland
According to TuttoMercatoWeb (h/t Mirror), Chelsea could be set for another summer of lavish spending to overhaul their side. Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is set to pump a good £260m into the club next summer to sign the required transfer targets, including Erling Haaland.
It has not even been 8 months since Chelsea went all guns blazing in the summer transfer window spending over £200m. The Blues signed a host of players such as Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Edouard Mendy, Hakim Ziyech and Thiago Silva.
However, most of the new signings have failed to click since their arrival and with results also not going their way, the Blues replaced Frank Lampard with Thomas Tuchel. While improvements have been made, Abramovich feels the need to supplement the squad again to help Tuchel with the players he needs.
At the top of their wishlist is the name of Erling Haaland. The Borussia Dortmund starlet has been in sensational form over the last season and a half while scoring at scarcely believable levels in Germany and Europe.
The Russian billionaire will likely want to avoid a bidding war in 2022 when a release clause of £65m activates for Haaland. They will want to move ahead of the queue next season itself and splurge on the Norwegian striker.

There has also been talk of adding a new central defender. Bayern Munich’s Niklas Sule and RB Leipzig’s Ibrahima Konate have been touted as the names to be targeted by the Blues. It will be interesting to see how much Chelsea spends in the summer and who they sign to back Thomas Tuchel.
