Thomas Tuchel has his say on Tammy Abraham contract situation
According to the Mirror, new Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has said that he is not aware of the contract situation regarding Tammy Abraham. The German went on to say that he does not want to be involved in these contract-related issues.
Tammy Abraham’s current deal runs till 2023 but it has been reported that talks over an extension have been dragging on for over a year now. A one-year extension was triggered last season by Chelsea.
When asked about Abraham’s future ahead of the Newcastle game, Tuchel insisted that he does not like to be involved in contract negotiations for players.
I’m not aware of the contract situations of my players because I don’t want to be involved with judging this when I’m making the decisions of who’s playing and who’s not.
The German manager has come out in support of the academy graduate talking about his difficulties against Burnley and missing out against Spurs and Sheffield United. Tuchel was left impressed by the Abraham overcame the difficult spells in his career and going out on loans.
The praises continued with Tuchel claiming that the lanky striker always scores and has what it takes to make it at Chelsea. Abraham played a starring role against Barnsley with his goals as well as his defensive work last time out in the FA Cup.

Tuchel remained assured that he has a good stock of strikers at his disposal and does not need to look elsewhere. Abraham has already played three games under his new manager and scored the important goal that sent Chelsea into the FA Cup quarter-finals.
