Chelsea star Ben Chilwell urges patience amid a poor run of form in Premier League
Speaking to the club’s official website, Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell has insisted that there must be patience as the club goes through the process of a rebuild.
After a transfer ban in 2019, Chelsea went heavy in the last summer window, bringing in a host of top stars. And while things began on a promising note, the results have deteriorated in recent weeks, especially in the Premier League.
Frank Lampard’s men have lost four of their last six league games, picking up just one. This has seen the team slide down to the ninth place in the PL standings, inviting pressure on the manager.
Chilwell, however, has insisted that while there need to be improvements, the team needs time to gel completely and it is important to be patient.
“It’s a process and it was always going to be difficult to win things straight away. We want to do that as soon as possible but it was never going to be a smooth journey.”
The England international further added that the recent results had been a humbling experience and has made the squad refocused as they look to put an end to the run.
“This little blip has refocused us all, we’re working even harder and it’s humbled us a little bit. It’s a very different and difficult season with everything that’s going on but the important thing now is we just get back to winning ways.”

Up next for Chelsea is a short trip to Fulham later today. A win against the Cottagers, who have been on a resurgent run, would see us reduce the gap to the top four to three points.
Another poor result, however, could see pressure ramp up on Lampard.
