Chelsea have a clear preference in loaning out this out-of-favour rising star

Chelsea prefer to loan out Fikayo Tomori to a foreign club
According to Football Insider (h/t Football.london), Chelsea prefer to send Fikayo Tomori out on loan to a foreign club.
This despite the youngster garnering interest domestically from the likes of Newcastle United and Leeds United. Tomori has fallen down the pecking order at the Bridge, making just a handful of appearances for the first XI.
The 23-year-old has played just 45 minutes of top-flight football this season. He is however believed to still be a part of Frank Lampard’s vision for the club. (h/t Football.london)

Tomori has also attracted attention from a number of continental sides. AC Milan are the latest and also the biggest overseas team linked with the Englishman.
A move to Italy would certainly be a boon for Tomori, who has seen his development stall in recent months. The opportunity to get more minutes is higher at the San Siro in comparison to Stamford Bridge.
Milan’s interest in Tomori is dependent on their pursuit of Mohamed Simakan. The Strasbourg youngster has been one of Ligue 1’s best talents this season and has also attracted attention from Stamford Bridge.

With Simakan now injured, chances of Tomori making the switch could be considered realistic.
Given that the youngster is a part of Lampard’s plans, it is surprising why we would not want to blood him in the Premier League. Both Conor Gallagher and Ruben Loftus-Cheek to an extent have benefitted this season from going out on loan to West Brom and Fulham respectively.

Tomori clearly has talent. But he is unlikely to fine tune it by sitting on the bench. Sending him out on loan is a no-brainer. However, where he eventually ends up remains to be seen.

Chelsea receive a boost in the race for talented young Bundesliga starlet

Chelsea receive a boost to sign Ibrahima Konate
According to Christian Falk of BILD (h/t chelseafc.com), Chelsea have received a boost in their pursuit of Ibrahima Konate. The Blues are said to be ahead of others because of Thomas Tuchel’s assistant Zsolt Low, who has a prior association with the Leipzig defender.
It’s not that Chelsea overly require a new central defender. The club already boast of a strong contingent from which Thomas Tuchel has used the likes of Thiago Silva, Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta. We sent Fikayo Tomori on loan as well as having Kurt Zouma on the side.
While Silva has had a great impact since arriving last summer, he will be 37 years old by the time the next season rolls on. Even Cesar Azpilicueta will need replacing at some point due to his age. So adding another elite centre-back would serve the club well.

The 21-year-old Konate has been with Leipzig since 2017, having joined from boyhood club FC Sochaux. During his time at the Saxony-based outfit, Konate has grown into a promising young centre-back with loads of potential.
It is now believed that Zsolt Low, who is Tuchel’s assistant, could help Chelsea in their bid to convince Konate to move to the Bridge. Low worked with the youngster when he was the assistant manager under Ralf Rangnick and Ralph Hasenhuttl at Leipzig. Falk spoke about the connection between Konate and Low.

‘The focus is very much on Konate in Leipzig at the moment. I’ve heard that Chelsea would like to get him. They would like to have him, and Tuchel is learning from Zsolt Low because he knows Konate from their time at Leipzig.’

Tuchel increasingly keen on signing 25-year-old Bundesliga star for Chelsea

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel extremely keen on signing Niklas Sule
According to Munich based publication Abendzietung (h/t The Express), Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is increasingly keen on signing Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule.
The German manager took over at Chelsea from Frank Lampard last month. He is unbeaten as Blues boss and has led the club back into the top four.
Despite the season being far from done, it would appear that Tuchel is already planning his summer moves. High on his wishlist is the Bayern defender who is a force to reckon with.

The 25-year-old is one of the best players at Bayern and is their defensive rock at the back. With Jerome Boateng not getting any younger, Sule can be considered the future of the Die Roten rearguard.
A towering presence at the back, Sule is also an incredible athlete with pace to burn. An all-rounder, it is clear to see why Tuchel wants him at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues backline has improved but still has some ways to go before being called formidable. There are few better players than Sule to do just that.
A hard sell!
The German international for his part is settled in Munich and shares a good relationship with Hansi Flick. With Bayern looking set to add to last season’s heroics, there is little reason for him to leave.

Sule has made 24 appearances for the Bundesliga giants this season, scoring two goals. His ability to offer a threat on set -pieces adds to his value. (h/t Transfermarkt)

With David Alaba on his way out and Jerome Boateng also out of contract next summer, Bayern face a summer of rebuild.
Having already signed Dayot Upamecano, it makes little sense for them to sell Sule. The duo together is a frightening pairing on paper.
Whether a breakthrough can be achieved remains to be seen. Securing Sule would be nothing short of a coup for Chelsea.

Report: Prolific European star sends transfer message amidst Chelsea interest

Erling Haaland teases potential transfer as Chelsea continue to keep tabs on him
Chelsea have been linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland. The Norwegian is one of the best young talents in world football.
A serial scorer, he looks at home at the top level despite his tender age of 21. A prolific scorer at RB Salzburg, he moved to Dortmund in January 2020.
Haaland has since gone on to further improve his game and has racked up amazing numbers. He has so far scored 41 goals and made 10 assists in just 42 games for the German side. (h/t Transfermarkt)

Haaland scored twice and assisted another against Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, further cementing his spot as a player to watch.
According to The Mirror, Haaland refused to rule out a move away and professed to be happy at garnering the attention of multiple top sides.
“It’s always nice when someone wants you.”
Chelsea will however have to contend with competition from Real Madrid, Manchester United and Liverpool for his signature. It is fair to say that there is the potential for a bidding war to take place.

Haaland has a £66.6m release clause in his Dortmund contract. But this does not become active until the end of the 2021-22 season. By waiting that long, we run the risk of another team trumping us to his signature.
Dortmund meanwhile value the player at £100m and could be open to a deal this summer. With a defensive rebuild also needed, it remains to be seen if Chelsea are willing to sanction such a deal for the Norwegian.

“A nasty one” – Chelsea star opens up on his difficult return from serious long-term injury

Chelsea ace Callum Hudson-Odoi opens up on his recovery from long-term injury
Speaking to the club’s official site (h/t Football.london), Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi has opened up on his recovery from what could have been a potentially nasty Achilles Tendon injury.
The Blues starlet spent 141 days out of action in 2019 from an injury that most players dread. Thankfully, he was able to make a full recovery and has since returned to the first-team fold.
The 20-year-old missed 11 games and spent the summer of 2019 recuperating. While it may have been frustrating for him to go through it, he believes the Chelsea staff ensured they got his recovery right.
“That injury was definitely a nasty one for me as it took me a very, very long time to recover.”

Back to his best!
Hudson-Odoi was keen to return to the fitness levels he showed before his injury and feels he has achieved that. It hasn’t been an easy road and the player had support around him to ensure he did what was needed.
“I’ve been working really hard off the pitch to try and get all my muscle and strength back and to get everything to how it was before I got my injury. Everyone has done superbly trying to get me back as quick as possible and I feel like I’m back to where I was.”
It was Hudson-Odoi’s first major injury and thankfully, he came out of it well. The setback came at a point when he was establishing himself in the senior side. He may have had to wait a while, but is now back in the fold, impressing as we all knew he would.

Primarily a winger, Hudson -Odoi has been deployed as a wing-back by new manager Thomas Tuchel. Whether this represents a unique opportunity for the player to discover a new strength remains to be seen.
