According to Football.london, Chelsea star Fikayo Tomori could join Leeds United on loan.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have been hit by injuries at centre-back. With Gaetano Berardi, Robin Koch and Diego Llorente sidelined, Bielsa has used Luke Ayling in defence.
Given how open the Elland Road outfit are at the back, bringing in a new central defender this January is only logical.
The 23-year-old made his first-team breakthrough last season. He has however fallen down the pecking order and made just three appearances during the current campaign.
Thiago Silva and Kurt Zouma are the club’s preferred centre-back partnership this season. With the likes of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger ahead of him, Tomori’s chances of regular playtime are remote.
Now 23, Tomori is in need of regular playtime to further his development. He is unlikely to get that at Chelsea.
According to the Here We Go podcast (h/t Football.london), Frank Lampard is keen to send the youngster out on loan. The club however sees his long-term future at the Bridge.
Tomori has grown frustrated due to his limited opportunities. Having spent this season as a fringe player, he is keen to call it quits at the Bridge. (h/t Metro)
Leeds are not the only Premier League side eyeing a loan for Tomori. Newcastle United are also in the fray to land the defender.

At just 23 years of age, Tomori has the best years of his career ahead of him. The experience that he gains from a potential loan could help him at Chelsea in the long run.
Thiago Silva is not getting any younger while the futures of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger are far from assured. Tomori now has a real opportunity to showcase just what he could do.
