Young star spotted in training photographs but no signs of this attacking ace

Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech edge closer to first-team return after recovering from injury

A report by Football.london noted that the training photographs from Cobham on Friday featured Callum Hudson-Odoi but not Hakim Ziyech, as both stars near first-team return for Chelsea after recovering from injury.

Two Chelsea stars were scheduled to return to training this weekend as Chelsea prepare to face West Ham United on Monday.

Callum Hudson-Odoi was spotted in training this Friday as the 20-year-old winger returned after missing 5 games for Chelsea.

Hudson-Odoi has struggled for game time before his injury a few weeks ago. His injury, though, came at a highly inconvenient time for Frank Lampard, who saw his side struggle in a hectic start to December.

The English winger can expect to feature in the coming weeks as Chelsea enter a congested festive period which sees them face West Ham, Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Manchester City before January 3.

However, fans need not worry too much. Frank Lampard clarified later in his interview that both Hudson-Odoi and Ziyech are back in training.

The English manager confirmed to reporters that the duo trained on Friday. But Lampard is not sure if they are ready to start in the Premier League just yet.

“It’s their first day back with the group today, training at a decent level, so I’ll have to see how they are in the next few days if they are to make West Ham.”

Ziyech will be itching to get back into the Chelsea side that lost both its league games in the Moroccan’s absence.

It would be a great boost to the Blues squad if both of them could feature in some capacity against West Ham United on Monday.
