Chelsea, however, have a number of attacking options at their disposal. Veteran striekr Olivier Giroud looks to be in fine form and gave us the lead at the Molineux.

Cole believes it is time Lampard gave Werner a rest by taking him out of the firing line.

“I’ve got no doubts he’ll be a top player for Chelsea but there’s options now and he [Lampard] needs to move it around.”

Cole also went on to add that the German ace needs to work on his finishing. Werner’s movement has seen him get into dangerous positions, only for his finishing to let him down.

With the likes of Hakim Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi set to return, dropping Werner down to the bench could see him regain his bearings.

“Ziyech and Hudson-Odoi to come back in, freshen it up at some point. Take Werner out, bring him back in.”

Despite his comments, Cole has no doubts that Werner will make it at the Bridge. The striker has shown us glimpses of his mercurial talent and should get going once he is settled in.

Chelsea next face West Ham United at home next Monday. Having picked up no points from the last two games, we cannot afford to drop any more points against the Hammers.

Strikers are usually confidence players. Once they get a goal, the floodgates should open. Hopefully Werner will shrug off his poor form and be back among the goals soon.
