Premier League newcomers among top-flight duo keen on young Chelsea starlet

Leeds United enter the race for talented Chelsea youngster Conor Gallagher

According to The Sun via HITC (h/t Leeds Live), Leeds United are among the clubs to have made an enquiry regarding Chelsea starlet Conor Gallagher.

The 20-year-old who is on loan at West Bromwich Albion has been garnering quite some attention, thanks to his impressive performances.

Gallagher has played five times this season for a Baggies side who have struggled in their return to the big leagues. Apart from Leeds, the likes of Crystal Palace and Newcastle United have also asked about the player.

Conor Gallagher is amongst the best young talents at Chelsea

The youngster has been at the club since 2008 and has progressed well through the youth ranks. He impressed out on loan last season and is among our best young prospects.

Twin loan spells at Charlton Athletic and Swansea saw him make 47 appearances in total across all competitions last season. In these games, the youngster produced an impressive return of 6 goals and 11 assists.

Having proven himself in the Championship, Gallagher has now got his first taste of Premier League action at West Brom.

Competition is high in the Chelsea midfield

Slow and steady!

While he may not have set the field alight, he has given a good account of his ability to compete at the top level. The fact that a manager such as Marcelo Bielsa is even keeping tabs on him is a testament to his ability.

Frank Lampard is keen for the England U21 international to get more game time and experience in the Premier League. He appears to be doing just that at the Hawthorns.

West Brom next face Manchester United at Old Trafford. Hopefully, the midfielder will go on to show once again as to why he is so highly rated.

Given the players currently at our disposal, Gallagher would have been hard-pressed to get first-team action at Chelsea this season.

Going out on loan is his best opportunity to not only get minutes under his belt but also showcase his ability and develop as a player.
