According to The Metro, Chelsea have been handed a major injury boost in the case of Billy Gilmour.
The youngster is now back in training after spending a number of months out injured. He has not featured for the club since injuring himself against Crystal Palace in July.
The 19-year-old gave a good account of himself when given the opportunity last season. Fans are unlikely to have forgotten his man of the match performance against Liverpool in the FA Cup.
Now back in training, he is closing in on making a first-team return. The youngster was excited to be back at Cobham and immediately went on to remind everyone what he is all about.
It did not take long for Gilmour to once again impress his teammates. New signing Timo Werner found it out the hard way.
Gilmour was pictured nutmegging the German ace on his return to training. If there is one way to make an impact on your return, it is to trump your team’s ace striker.
Gilmour has shown in the past that reputation means little to him. He showed that when he pocketed Fabinho in our clash against Liverpool.
As seen with Werner, it would appear that the youngster has not lost his touch. Gilmour is expected to return to action at the end of next month.
The return of Gilmour will give Frank Lampard more options to choose from in the coming matches.
With the season heading into the second half soon, we will need all players at hand to negotiate what could be a busy schedule.
