Olivier Giroud hopes to beat former side Arsenal in the FA Cup final

European trio set to bid for Chelsea star Olivier Giroud

According to The Express, Chelsea are bracing themselves for a bidding war for ace striker Olivier Giroud.

The 34-year-old has fallen down the pecking order since the arrival of Timo Werner this summer. With him seeking more game time, the Blues are prepared to let him leave in January.

There is no shortage of suitors for the French international. West Ham United, Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur are all interested in his services.

Giroud is determined to play for the France national team next summer at the European Championships. French manager Didier Deschamps confirmed that the striker will have to feature regularly to start for his country.

Chelsea meanwhile are willing to let him leave as a thank you gesture for his efforts for the club. It is an excellent gesture by the club given the key goals he has scored for us.

Giroud is in the final few months of his contract. Selling him in January will see us net a transfer fee as opposed to losing him for free in the summer.

A low key solution?

The interest in Giroud can work out well for us. A potential bidding war can see us net a decent amount in what could be yet another shrewd move in the window.

Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, now in charge of Inter, is keen to sign the Frenchman. Despite having Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez at his disposal, he is keen to have Giroud on his bench.

Of the three clubs, it would appear West Ham are best placed to offer the striker more game time. Since that is his primary goal, it remains to be seen if they can trump Spurs and Inter to his signature.

Despite his age, Giroud remains a clinical striker. He was the hero in our win over Rennes in the Champions League on Tuesday.

His stoppage-time header ensured we qualified for the knockout stages. He will be sure to do a good job wherever he ends up.

While we would hate to lose him, his desire to impress for France is understandable. In fact, he has earned himself the right to choose what is best for him.
