Inter Miami keen on Chelsea ace Olivier Giroud
According to the Mirror, David Beckham’s Inter Miami are keen on Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud.
The French ace is unhappy with the lack of playing time he has received at the club. Given that he continues to perform at the top level, his annoyance is understandable.
French national team boss Didier Deschamps also recently spoken of the need for his 34-year-old striker to play regularly. He had hinted at preferring Anthony Martial over Giroud as former is a regular for Manchester United. (h/t Mirror)
Miami has struggled in their first season in the MLS. They are currently in the 11th spot in the Eastern Conference and have scored just 25 goals. To put it in perspective only three teams across both conferences have scored less than them.
A move to Miami will see Giroud link up with former teammate Gonzalo Higuain. The MLS side are keen to bring in big names and in Giroud, they would be getting a player still performing at the top. (h/t Mirror)
Giroud had made just seven appearances this season, scoring one goal. He will look to move on in the new year if things don’t improve at the Bridge. (h/t Mirror)
The striker has played more for France this season than for Chelsea. In eight games for the world champions, he scored five goals. (h/t Mirror)
A number of clubs in Europe are also keen on securing the Frenchman’s services. With the winter window just under two months away, it remains to be seen where he ends up if at all he leaves.
