Chelsea preparing a renewed offer for Declan Rice
Chelsea have been linked with a move for West Ham United star Declan Rice for some time now.
A deal failed to materialize over the summer. It would appear that was not the last we will hear of the Blues itnerest in the 21-year-old.
According to Football Insider (h/t The Mirror), Chelsea are set to make a renewed effort in securing the player’s signature.
The Blues showed excellent acumen to make a number of brilliant deals in the summer. With the January window just under two months’ way, it would appear our business is far from done.
According to the report, the Blues are aware that it will cost a significant amount to sign the Hammers ace.
We will need to sell before we can buy. This could see two players leave the club in order to fund Rice’s move.
Some of the players who could leave the club are Jorginho, Antonio Rudiger and Marcos Alonso.
Given the players we have at our disposal, the club will not miss any of the three players mentioned above. While Jorginho and Rudiger were key players last summer, they are not what one would consider irreplaceable.
Rice on the other hand is young and has shown he has a high ceiling. If he achieves his potential at the Bridge, the Blues will have a real player on their hands.
