International manager issues injury update on key Chelsea star

Christian Pulisic injury update issued by USMNT boss Gregg Berhalter

As reported by Football.london, the United States Men’s National Team boss Gregg Berhalter has provided an update on the injury of Chelsea star Christian Pulisic.

The 22-year-old missed all of Chelsea’s last three matches prior to the international break after picking up a hamstring injury during warm-ups against Burnley.

In spite of the injury, Pulisic was called up by the USMNT for their upcoming friendly against Wales later this week and the winger has joined the camp, even though he is unlikely to feature.

And Berhalter, speaking of the ex-Borussia Dortmund ace’s condition, revealed that he was being assessed on a ‘day-to-day’ basis. (h/t Football.london)

“Christian is in camp and is listed as day-to-day. It says a lot about Christian that he wasn’t playing for Chelsea but wanted to come into this camp and be around the team. His status is day-to-day.”

The USMNT manager then downplayed concerns that Pulisic was an injury-prone footballer, claiming that the youngster is still getting used to the demands of the English schedule. (h/t Football.london)

“I really see it as a young player who is just adapting to the demands of a different game, a different schedule. I have no doubt that he’s going to be a player that is fit for a very long period of time when he gets through this period.”

Pulisic has featured just five times across all competitions this season, scoring a solitary goal. The USMNT international has had a lot of injury issues to deal with during his time at the Bridge.

Hopefully, he is able to come back stronger from the latest setback.
