“Player of immense quality” – Lampard sends a warning to rivals regarding exciting new Chelsea signing

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard sends Hakim Ziyech warning to rivals

According to the Express, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has sounded out a warning to rivals following an impressive performance from Hakim Ziyech.

The Moroccan international was our first high-profile signing of the summer. An injury sustained in pre-season has so far seen him play a peripheral role.

Ziyech made his first start for the club in our Champions League trip to Krasnodar midweek. He went on to sore his first goal in Blue while putting up an exellent performance.

“Now he has shown that he is here.”

Having seen the 27-year-old impress in training, Lampard is well aware of the attacker’s capabilities.

An impressive player for Ajax Amsterdam, Ziyech made 130 goal contributions in just 162 games for the Dutch giants. It should be only a matter of time before he replicates the same for us.

Lampard believes Ziyech will get better the more he plays. The Premier League may be forgiven for forgetting about him due to his injury fuelled absence.

Now that he is back, Ziyech could prove to be a real thorn in their side. The goal at Krasnodar could be just a teaser of things to come.

“But what I’ve seen in training and what I knew we were signing is a player of immense quality with personality to receive the ball and find assists and goals.”

Chelsea travels to face a plucky Burnley side at Turf Moor this weekend. Sean Dyche’s side is a formidable threat at home and will present us with a challenge.

Having drawn both of our previous Premier League games, the Blues should get all three points against Burnley to get the season back on track.

While the Clarets are a dogged opposition, Lampard can now call upon Ziyech to unlock their defences.
