Chelsea player wages – English star tops the list with a whopping £190k-a-week

Ben Chilwell is the highest-earning player at Chelsea

According to The Express, Chelsea new boy Ben Chilwell is the club’s highest-paid player.

The English international earns a whopping £190,000-a-week after making his move from Leicester City to Stamford Bridge.

The 23-year-old arrived at the club injured. However, he has taken to the field of late and has looked impressive for the Blues.

According to The Athletic, fellow summer recruit, Timo Werner is next on the list with a weekly wage of £170,000 per week plus bonuses.

Ther German ace is however said to earn much higher by Spanish publication AS (h/t The Express). The report goes on to add that Werner warns around £265,000 per week. This is however unconfirmed.

What can be confirmed is that Chilwell and Werner both lead the list when it comes to player wages.

Last summer’s recruits, Christian Pulisic and Kepa Arrizabalaga are in third and fourth positions respectively. Club skipper Cesar Azpilicueta rounds off the top five with a wage of around £150,000 per week.

Academy graduate Callum Hudson-Odoi’s new contract sees him earn as much as the Blues skipper. However, according to Goal (h/t The Express), he could earn as much as £180,000 including add-ons.

New signings Kai Havertz, Thiago Silva, and Hakim Ziyech are all on six-figure deals, with the German’s £140,000-a-week the highest of the lot. Reece James’ new deal is worth £100,000-a-week with bonuses, bringing him on par with the likes of Marcos Alonso and Mateo Kovacic.

Of the players out on loan, summer addition Malang Sarr is the highest earner with more than £50,000 per week.

Interestingly, Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori are among the club’s lower earners. This after the former triggered an extension clause on improved terms owing to his appearances and goals last season.
