Chelsea star Victor Moses joins Spartak Moscow on loan
According to Sky Sports, Chelsea star Victor Moses has joined Russian giants Spartak Moscow on loan.
The 29-year-old will spend the season in the Russian capital. Spartak do have the option of making the deal permanent next summer.
The winger joined Chelsea from Wigan Athletic in 2014. Apart from a brief stint under Antonio Conte, he has failed to hold down a regular starting spot at Stamford Bridge.
He does not have the favour of Frank Lampard and is now in his third loan spell since the Englishman took over last summer.
During his six years at the club, Moses has made just 128 appearances, scoring 13 goals and assisting 18 more. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Moses was also left out of Chelsea’s Champions League squad for the group stages. It was an early indication that his future lies away from the club.
The winger’s contract at Chelsea runs until 2021. It would appear that he has played his last game for the Blues.
Given the plethora of talent at the club’s disposal, it is imperative that a number of players will have to be moved on.
Moses is a handy player who can do a job for a mid-tier team. Unfortunately for him, his future lies elsewhere.
