Chelsea fans react as Reece James is sent off for England against Denmark
Chelsea star Reece James made his full debut for England against Denmark in the UEFA Nations League yesterday.
The 20-year-old was one of the better players for England but saw his night end on a sour note. He was given his marching orders post full-time by referee Jesus Gil Manzano for foul and abusive language.
It was a frustrating night for England as a soft penalty decision went against them. Denmark also engaged in numerous time-wasting antics as they ran down the clock.
James is not the only Three Lions star to receive a red. Manchester United skipper Harry Maguire was sent off on the half-hour mark after picking up his second yellow.
While James’ frustration is understandable, he will have to keep his emotions in check. Hopefully, this will serve as a lesson to the youngster.
We take a look at how fans reacted to the incident.

That ref should not be allowed near another international match at this level again.

Good to see he cares but a bit daft unfortunately after a really good performance from him.

Getting sent off so he doesn’t have to be called up for the next nations league match. What a lad! 💙🙌🏽

Reece James is a no-nonsense kinda player. Doesn’t take shit from nobody. Has this tenacious spirit and “I’m not gonna back down” all over him. What a performance tonight! Man has arguably put himself in contention for England’s First choice RB position! 👏

At least someone dares have a go. No sending off. No penalty. Different rule for England than the Danes.
