According to Italian publication Tuttomercato Web (h/t The Express), Chelsea are keeping tabs on Juventus star Paulo Dybala.

The Argentine has fallen down the pecking order under new manager Andrea Pirlo. Dybala is yet to feature for the Italian champions this season.

Juventus are willing to listen to offers for the 26-year-old with Chelsea seeking an opportunity to sign him on the cheap. Dybala was linked with a move away from Turin just 12 months ago.

Despite coming close to leaving last summer, Dybala worked his way back into contention. He went on to make 46 appearances while scoring 17 goals and assisting 14 more. (h/t Transfermarkt)

Unfortunately, his performances have not impressed Pirlo. The Italian legend does not consider Dybala to be a part of his plans going forward.

The player for his part stayed on with the hope of fighting for his place. Unlike last season, he has had no such luck this time around.

The playmaker has two years to run on his current contract. He is currently in negotiations with the club over an extension.

According to the report, Chelsea are watching on with interest. The Blues will make a bid for Dybala if contract negotiations lead nowhere.

If the current situation persists next summer, the player will be entering the final year of his contract. This should give us a bargaining chip in negotiating a lower fee.
