Chelsea star Kurt Zouma hopes to learn a lot from Thiago Silva
Speaking to the club’s official website (h/t The Express), Chelsea star Kurt Zouma is excited to work alongside Thiago Silva.
The Brazilian defender is one of the best players in his position over the last decade. He joined the Blues this summer after his contract at PSG expired.
“I’m very happy he’s here and excited to learn from him”
One of the most accomplished players of his generation, Silva has wasted no time in settling in at Chelsea. While his debut against West Brom was nothing to write home about, the 36-year-old did not put a foot wrong against Crystal Palace last time around.
In fact, Zouma and Silva complemented each other well as the Blues kept their first Premier League clean sheet of the season. The Frenchman believes Thaigo’s influence can be seen both on and off the field.
“Everyone has welcomed Thiago into the group and we are all happy he’s with us at Chelsea.”
Learning from experience
The Brazilian has played in some of the world’s biggest games and is vastly experienced. He brings with him great wisdom that he could impart to the young defenders at Stamford Bridge.
“We are all excited to play with him and to learn from him. He’s got great experience at the highest level, he’s won a lot of titles and last season he played in the Champions League final.”
The defence was a major source of concern for Frank Lampard going into the summer. The Blues struggled at the back throughout last season.
The club has since brought in Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell and Edouard Mendy. Hopefully, the trio can help improve our fortunes by making us stronger at the back.

Despite his advanced age, Silva remains a potent player. He showcased just that when he kept Robert Lewandowski quiet in last season’s UEFA Champions League final.
