Chelsea ace Jake Clarke-Salter in demand in the EFL Championship
According to Goal.com (h/t Yorkshire Live), Chelsea youngster Jake Clarke-Salter is a man in demand in the EFL Championship, with three clubs vying to sign him.
The main transfer window may have been closed, but business can be done between Premier League and EFL clubs until the domestic deadline of October 16. And clubs in the lower division are hoping to make the most of it, by signing fringe players from the top tier on loan deals.

The 23-year-old centre-back is a product of the Blues’ youth academy. He made his debut for the club in 2016, but has featured just one more time after that. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Clarke-Salter has had loan spells away at Bristol Rovers, Sunderland and Vitesse Arnhem, while he spent the last season at Birmingham City. And, it seems that the Englishman could be set for another temporary stint in the English second division.
As per the report, Clarke-Salter is being chased by Sheffield Wednesday, who are eyeing him as a potential replacement for Dominic Iorfa. In addition, the likes of Birmingham City and Derby County are also in the race for the 23-year-old.

Considering that Clarke-Salter is nowhere near the first-team picture at Chelsea currently, letting him leave on loan makes sense. A move to the Championship, where he is likely to play regularly, seems like the best course of action.
It now remains to be seen where the 23-year-old ends up before the October 16 deadline.
