Chelsea outcast Baba Rahman attracting interest from Watford and Middlesborough
According to Goal (h/t The Sun), Chelsea outcast Baba Rahman is attracting interest from Watford and Middlesborough.
The English domestic window is still open and either club can sign the Blues defender on or before October 16.
Signed from FC Augsburg in 2015, Rahman has made just 23 appearances for the club. In fact, he has failed to make an appearance for Chelsea after that season.
He has since spent five spells out on loan at three different teams. He could now be set for another, with both Watford and Middlesborough interested.
According to the report, he enjoyed good patches out on loan but was repeatedly hit by injuries. This has seen him fall into obscurity among the Chelsea fans.
In fact, Rahman spent most of his time last season at Mallorca, recovering from a knee injury.
Rahman has two years left on his Chelsea contract. With the likes of Ben Chilwell, Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri all available, the Ghanian is at best the fourth choice left-back at the club.
The move to Chelsea was a dream come true for the player’s father. A Chelsea supporter, his son honours him by using the prefix Baba in his name. (h/t The Express)
