AC Milan are interested in Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger
According to Sky Sports, AC Milan are in talks with Chelsea regarding a loan deal for Antonio Rudiger.
The German international has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea and is yet to feature for the club this season. In fact, he has failed to even make the bench since the opening fixture against Brighton in which he was an unused substitute.
His predicament at Stamford Bridge has attracted a number of suitors, and among them are Tottenham Hotspur and PSG. Milan are now pushing to secure the 27-year-old on a season-long loan.
The Italians giants are favoured by Chelsea’s preference to loan the player out to a foreign club.
Rudiger has two years left on his Blues deal. Chelsea are keen to see the player sign an extension before he is permitted to leave on loan. Doing so will help protect his value once he returns.
A move to the San Siro will help boost the player’s chances of gaining regular game time. He has a much better chance of making his mark at Milan than at Chelsea.
Doing so will boost his chances of making the Germany squad for next summer’s Euros. Spending a season on the periphery at Chelsea will hardly help his cause.
Rudiger made 26 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea last season as the Blues finished fourth in the Premier League and also reached the FA Cup final.
Rudiger joined Chelsea in 2017 after arriving from Roma. He has featured 115 times for the club, scoring six goals.
