Chelsea outcast Tiemoue Bakayoko set to join Napoli on loan
According to reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea outcast Tiemoue Bakayoko is set to join Napoli on loan.
The 26-year-old has failed to impress since joining the club from Monaco in 2017. He has spent the last two seasons out on loan at Monaco and AC Milan.
The Frenchman now looks set for another spell away from the club. He will complete his medical and pen a loan deal until June 2021. The agreement does not include an option to buy.
To be fair, Bakayoko did well in the curtailed 2019/20 campaign in France. However, given Chelsea’s wealth of options in the midfield, he does not feature in manager Frank Lampard’s plans.
The move will see Bakayoko reunite with Gennaro Gattuso. The duo had worked together during his time on loan at AC Milan in 2018/19. The Italian tactician was keen on a reunion with the Frenchman and now looks to have gotten his man.
Bakayoko has featured just 43 times for Chelsea so far, scoring and assisting three goals apiece. Although he still has two years left on his contract, the chances of him donning Blue again looks unlikely.
It has been an excellent window where Chelsea have brought in six key first-team stars. With a wealth of options at our disposal, it is no surprise that some of the fringe players will have to make way.

There have been a number of loan exits so far, with the likes of Conor Gallagher and Ross Barkley leaving for West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa respectively.
Bakayoko could be just the first of some unwanted players leaving the club on deadline day. With just a day left in the window, it remains to be seen who else will join him.
