Injury News: Lampard provides an update on key Chelsea stars and it’s good news

Lampard provides positive injury update on Pulisic and Ziyech

According to Football.london, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has spoken about the availability of Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech ahead of the match against Crystal Palace.

Both the players are yet to make an appearance for the club this season. While the former is set to return against Palace, the latter will have to wait.

“Ziyech is getting closer but not close enough to be on the bench.”

Lampard however is optimistic that both of the players will feature for the club before the international break.

Pulisic was expected to feature in our season opener at Brighton. However, a setback prolonged his absence from the squad. The American international has not played for the club since the FA Cup final last season.

Set to be named for the clash against Palace, the 22-year-old will have to settle for a place on the bench.

“Pulisic is in the squad for tomorrow. He won’t start, it’s great to have him back.”

It makes sense to ease Pulisic back into the lineup given how long he was out for.

The Chelsea boss is confident that both Ziyech and Pulisic will get the best out of each other. He admitted that he already knows how the duo fit into the system and cannot wait to have them back.

“I have a clear idea of where I want them to play.”

It has been a positive week for Chelsea on the injury front. Ben Chilwell made his first start for the club in the midweek loss to Tottenham Hotspur.
