Chelsea star issued contract ultimatum as transfer deadline draws near

Chelsea issue an ultimatum to German ace Antonio Rudiger

According to the Mirror, Chelsea want Antonio Rudiger to sign a contract extension before letting him go out on loan.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has already informed Rudiger that he is not part of the club’s plans this campaign. It is backed up by him not playing a minute for the club this season so far. (h/t Mirror)

According to the report, despite being out in the cold, Chelsea will not let Rudiger go unless he pens a contract extension.

Rudiger’s contract currently runs until 2022. By adding another year to it, Chelsea believe they can protect his transfer value. (h/t Mirror)

Chelsea have had an excellent transfer window

The fact that we are looking to protect his value while not playing him shows his time at Chelsea could be over. With the window set to close in four days, time is running out for Rudiger to make a decision.

According to the report, the player too appears to have accepted that his time at the Bridge is over. Rudiger has spoken with his half-brother Sahr Senesie and his representatives to figure out a solution ahead of the deadline. (h/t Mirror)
