Jorginho looks set to stay on at Chelsea this summer
Speaking to 90min (h/t Express), the agent of Jorginho, Joao Santos has hinted that his client is set to stay on at Chelsea this summer.
The Italian international was linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this season. The limited role he played initially after the restart last season did little to silence speculation. (h/t Express)
However, his agent has seemingly ruled out an exit in the current transfer window, which closes on Monday. (h/t Express)
“At the moment, I can say that it is just rumours.”
Hvaing been brought in by Maurizio Sarri in 2018, Jorginho is a player who has divided opinion among the Blues faithful.
The 28-year-old was expected to link up with Sarri at Juventus. However the Italian boss was dismissed by Juventus after their Champions league exit, putting an end to the speculation. (h/t Express)
Jorginho has been played in three games for Chelsea so far this season. He has also held onto the vice-captaincy and could be a sign of him staying on at the club.
What impact his staying will have in our pursuit with Declan Rice remains to be seen. Jorginho was linked with move to PSG or Arsenal with Chelsea keen to raise funds for the West Ham Untied star. (h/t Express)
The Hammers are seeking an incredible £80m for Rice. Chelsea will need to sell in order to raise the funds required. (h/t Express)
Santos went on to add that Jorginho is yet to receive an offer for his services. With three more years to go on his contract, Jorginho looks set to stay on. (h/t Express)
“He is happy at Chelsea, he started the season well and being the vice-captain at the moment.”
