Reliable journalist confirms that a Premier League star is pushing for Chelsea switch

West Ham United star Declan Rice pushing for Chelsea transfer

According to Transfer Expert Fabrizio Romano, West Ham United star Declan Rice is pushing to join Chelsea this summer.

Signing the youngster will cap off what has been a sensational summer window for the Blues. Senegalese goalkeeper Edouard Mendy became the club’s latest addition after his move was confirmed earlier today.

Romano admitted that while the Blues are yet to make a bid for Rice, the club has been in contact with his agent.

Chelsea will first look to sell or loan players before opening talks with West Ham in the coming days. While the Hammers are adamant they will not sell the player, Rice is keen to make the switch.

Frank Lampard is a keen admirer of Rice and is keen to bring him to the club. If the deal does happen, it will be a triumphant return for a player who was once on Chelsea’s books.

Romano admits that West Ham’s sale of Grady Diangana to West Bromwich Albion showcases the Hammers’ need for money. He has hinted that the Londoners would be willing to cash in on Rice if the price is right. (h/t The Express)

It was earlier suggested by Ian McGarry that Chelsea are ready to sell Kante to fund a move for Rice.

West Ham United value Rice at a massive £73m. Should the deal go through, it will make him Chelsea’s second-biggest purchase.

Lampard plans to use Rice in a three-man defensive setup. With just days to go before the window closes, it remains to be seen if the Blues manage to get their man.
