According to Football.london, promising goalkeeper Teddy Sharman-Lowe has confirmed on Twitter that he has signed with Chelsea.
The former Burton Albion starlet is the club’s eighth signing of what has been a busy summer transfer window.
The Blues have been one extremely active and have signed five first-team stars so far. The likes of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Kai Havertz will massively boost our hopes of competing at the top.
While the players mentioned above are ready to make an impact now, the Blues have not taken their eyes off the future. Sharman-Lowe joins Malang Sarr and Xavier Mbuyamba as one to look out for in the future.
The youngster took to social media to confirm his move to the London giants. He described it as a surreal experience to sign for a club of Chelsea’s stature.
“Absolutely speechless! A very surreal experience signing for one of the biggest clubs in the world.”
He did not however forget his roots and thanked everyone at Burton for their role in his development.
Hopefully, the 17-year-old can continue his development at Stamford Bridge and emerge as a dependable first-team star in the future.
While Sharman-Lowe will join Chelsea, another youngster Samuel Iling-Junior has confirmed his exit from the club.
The youngster has since signed for Italian champions Juventus as he embarks upon a new chapter in his career.
The Blues have had a summer to remember. Despite looking to immediately challenge, the Chelsea hierarchy have not ignored building for the future.
This level of strategic thinking will go a long way in ensuring we remain competitive for years to come.
