Reputed pundit tips key Chelsea target to consider his options this summer

Danny Mills tips Declan Rice to consider his future amidst Chelsea links

According to Football Insider (h/t The Express), Danny Mills believes Chelsea target Declan Rice will be considering his options.

The 21-year-old is one of the Hammers’ key players. Formerly a Chelsea youth starlet, he was released by the Blues at the age of 14.

He has since gone on to make a name for himself at West Ham. This has seen Chelsea return for the player they once let go.

Mills believes Rice will be flattered by the Blues interest and also the curious ensemble of talented players the club has assembled.

“It’s always interesting especially when you look at the interesting players that Chelsea have pulled together over the window.”

Unlike Chelsea, West Ham look set to endure yet another difficult season where they could be battling at the other end of the table.

The Hammers opened their Premier League campaign with a 2-0 loss at home to Newcastle United. A number of their players looked disinterested, including Rice.

According to the report, West Ham are reluctant to sell the 21-year-old and have slapped a £70m price tag on his head.

Rice has been linked with a move to Chelsea for some time now. There is however some difference of opinion between Lampard and the Blues board.

The club has backed their manager well this summer. With £230million spent so far, the Blues are comfortable the most extravagant team this window.
