Inter Milan not keen on signing N’Golo Kante
According to The Express, Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio had admitted that they are not interested in Chelsea star N’Golo Kante.
The 29-year-old was heavily linked with a switch to the San Siro. It would have seen him reunite with former Blues boss Antonio Conte.
“Kante is not on the market, he’s a starter at Chelsea.”
It was under Conte that Kante arrived at the Bridge and went on to have a stellar debut season.
Having spent an incredible £250million so far this summer, the Blues are willing to sell a number of players to balance their books.
One of these players was touted to be Kante. The Frenchman came on the back of a frustrating 2019/20 campaign that saw him consistently sidelined due to injury.
The World Cup winning star has three years on his contract, with the Blues demanding £45m for his services.
Inter were keen to offer Christian Eriksen and Marcelo Borzovic in an attempt to get the transfer fee down. However, it would now appear that they are no more in the running for the player.
The Nerazzurri have a wealth of options in midfield and do not need to bring in another player right now.
“We’re not in talks for him also because we’ve already 8 midfielders in our team.”
With Inter now supposedly out of the race, it remains to be seen if Kante will stay on at Chelsea or move to another club.
A prospective destination could be local rivals Manchester United who have made an enquiry into his availability.
