Juventus keen on Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri
According to Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t The Mirror), Italian champions Juventus are interested in Chelsea star Emerson Palmieri.
The Italian arrived at Chelsea from Italian outfit AS Roma in January 2018. However, he has struggled to eke out a regular starting berth for himself at Stamford Bridge.
The 26-year-old has made 55 appearances for Chelsea across all competitions. During this time, he has scored one goal and assisted five more. (h/t Transfermarkt)
With Ben Chilwell and Marcos Alonso at the club, Emerson will in all likelihood be the third choice left-back at the club.
Having enjoyed a lavish summer window, the Blues are now keen to offload players to balance the books. Emerson looks set to be one of the stars on their way out.
Despite enjoying interest from Inter Milan, West Ham United and PSG, the player remains at Chelsea. This could be about to change with Juventus now in the picture.
The Old Lady’s interest looks to have been prompted by an injury to Alex Sandro. Youngster Gianluca Frabotta stepped in for the Brazilian in the 3-0 win over Sampdoria.
Frabotta is inexperienced and could be found wanting against stronger opposition. Juventus continue to keep tabs on Emerson and could consider a loan move with an obligation to buy.
The report goes on to say that Inter Milan continues to lead the race for the Chelsea star.
