28-year-old star’s agent opens door to a move to big club amidst Chelsea links

Lewis Dunk could yet make a move to Chelsea

Speaking to Sports Mole (h/t Daily Star), the agent of Lewis Dunk has left the door open for his client to move to Chelsea.

The 28-year-old has spent his entire career at Brighton and has made over 300 appearances so far. Dunk has been a dependable defender who is a threat at both ends of the pitch.

The Seagulls skipper has made no secret of his love for Chelsea. A true Blue, he looks up to former captain and club legend John Terry for inspiration. (h/t Daily Star)

Frank Lampard is keen on bringing in a defender following our difficulties at the back last season. Despite bringing in both Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr, the Blues are keen to add another player to the mix.

Dunk was at one point of time considered a prospective target. However, he signed a new deal at Brighton and the rumours gradually died down.

But if his agent is to be believed, that is far from the case. He admitted that his client would find it difficult to say no if a top-six club came in for him.

“I think if a top-six club comes along and really push the boat out for him then it’d be hard to say no.”

Will he or won’t he?

He also goes on to add that Dunk had no shortage of opportunities to move to a top side but does not necessarily see it as progress.

“He’s had quite a lot of chances to move to other Premier League clubs but doesn’t see that as a forward step.”

The defender appears to be well settled at Brighton. His kids go to school in the city where he has also built a house. It remains to be seen if Dunk will ever leave Brighton.
