Leeds United keen on Chelsea youngster Conor Gallagher
According to The Sun, Leeds United are keen on loaning Chelsea youngster Conor Gallagher.
The 20-year-old has been at the club since 2008. He progressed through the youth ranks before going on to make a name for himself while on loan last season.
Having impressed with Chelsea’s U23 side in the 2018/19 campaign, he was loaned out to Championship outfit Charlton Athletic for the first half of the 2019/20 season.
He spent the second half at Swansea City and played a key role as they finished in a playoff spot. Unfortunately, they could not get past Brentford in the semifinals and crashed out.
Gallagher made a total of 47 appearances across all competitions for Charlton and Swansea together. The midfielder came up with an impressive return of six goals and eleven assists.
He is, now, on the verge of signing a contract extension at the Bridge. Once that happens, its is expected that Gallagher will once again leave on loan. (h/t The Sun)
Leeds are keen to bring in the midfielder and can afford to give him more chances than at Crystal Palace, who are also keen. (h/t The Sun)
Advantage Leeds?
Palace are also interested in taking Blues striker Michy Batshuayi on loan. With the Blues keen to get rid of the player, the chances of them landing the Belgian are high.
Premier League rules prevent Palace from loaning both players. Their interest in Batshuayi could boost Leeds’ chances of landing Gallagher. (h/t The Sun)

Gallagher showed great promise in the Championship last summer. The prospect of him testing himself in the top flight should hold him in good stead for the future.
More so, playing under the tutelage of the legendary Marcelo Bielsa should also aid him in his development. Whether that comes to be, remains to be seen.
