Declan Rice arranges Tammy Abraham meet up amidst Chelsea interest
According to The Daily Star, Declan Rice has tried to arrange a round of golf with Tammy Abraham amidst strong interest from Chelsea.
The 21-year-old has emerged as a key target for the Blues as Frank Lampard attempts to revamp his porous defence.
The Blues boss is keen to bring back the former Chelsea youth product who has defied expectations since being released by the club at the age of 14.
Despite West Ham’s reluctance to sell, it would appear that Rice is doing little to quell rumours of a return to Stamford Bridge.
His latest antics saw him attempting to copy Michael Jackson’s moves on a golf course. This elicited a response from Blues striker Abraham, who invited Rice for a round of golf.
The 21-year-old Rice is a close friend of Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount. The two came up together at Cobham and have stayed in touch over the years. Mount was also seen liking an Instagram post that talked about Chelsea making a bid for Rice.
The duo is currently enjoying a holiday in Greece ahead of the 2020-21 camping that begins next month. It was here that he was pictured meeting Chelsea legend Didier Drogba. (h/t The Sun)
Rice later met up with former Blues skipper John Terry, who gave his seal of approval of the youngster’s talent. The post sent fans into a tizzy as they believe it is just a matter of time before the youngster dons the Blue jersey once again.
The Hammers for their part are not averse to selling Rice. It will, however, set us back a fortune, with West Ham holding out for £80million at the very least.

Having come through the Chelsea academy and as one of the Premier League’s best young players, Rice’s affiliation with a number of former and current Chelsea stars will come as no surprise.
We do hope he is sending a message to the club to bring him back to Stamford Bridge. Something we feel they should oblige to.
