Gallagher played a key role in the Swans playoff finish, although he couldn’t lead them to the playoff finals. In total, for both Charlton and Swansea combined, the 20-year-old finished the 2019/20 season with six goals and 11 assists in 47 appearances.

Gallagher had recently hinted that he would be open to returning to Swansea for another loan spell. (h/t BBC)

“Swansea’s a great club, why not? I’ve enjoyed my time here. I’ve had a great second half of the season which I’ve really enjoyed. But I don’t know what will happen next season with Chelsea.”

However, he is now being courted by a number of clubs in Germany. (h/t Football.london)

The three clubs that are lining up for Gallagher’s signing are, Schalke 04, 1. FSV Mainz 05 and Arminia Bielefeld, who earned promotion to the Bundesliga, after winning the 2. Bundesliga in 2019/20.

Gallagher, who has been capped four times by the England U21 team, is shown quite a lot of promise in over the course of the 2019/20 campaign.

An exciting talent, the 20-year-old should go out on loan for another year, given that first-team opportunities are unlikely to be forthcoming at Stamford Bridge. It remains to be seen where the youngster ends up ahead of the 2020/21 season.
