Leeds set to rival Chelsea for Said Benrahma
According to a report from The Athletic, Leeds United are interested in signing Brentford winger Said Benrahma, who is a transfer target for Chelsea.
The 24-year-old Benrahma has been a revelation since joining the Bees back in 2018. He has been one of the chief driving forces behind their promotion push to the Premier League.
So far, Benrahma has plundered 17 goals and assisted 10 more from 45 matches and can add to it next week, in the Championship Playoffs final against Swansea City.
Benrahma’s exploits over the past couple of seasons have put him firmly on the radars of Chelsea. We have already significantly strengthened our attack with the addition of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech, while Kai Havertz is also on his way as well.
However, with Willian’s contract situation not resolving and Pedro headed for an exit, adding a new wide player would be a good move by the club.
Benrahma, to that end, would be a viable addition to the club. The Algerian international has proven himself at the Championship level and seems ready to make the next step in his career.
However, we will have to stave off competition from Leeds United, who are now keen on signing the winger. The Whites are back in the Premier League after a 16-year-long wait. And they are prepared to go all out to strengthen their ranks, with Benrahma a key target. (h/t The Athletic)
