“Shouldn’t be a problem”: Lampard rubbishes baseless claims about negative impact of new Chelsea arrivals

Frank Lampard dismisses suggestions that new signings have unsettled his Chelsea squad

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has dismissed suggestions that his squad has become unsettled by the arrival of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.

The Blues stole a march on their rivals as they secured the signings of both the players early on.

With Chelsea involved in a three-way tussle for the two remaining Champions League spots, players currently at the club are fighting for their futures.

Hakim Ziyech joined Chelsea this month

Lampard insists that his players must get used to the biggest names in the game coming to the club as we continue our upward trajectory.

“If players come in, that should be the nature of the beast playing for Chelsea. It shouldn’t be a problem for anyone.”

The Blues boss is keen to push on from this season’s promise and challenge Liverpool and Manchester City for the title.

The duo is currently among the top teams in Europe. As things stand, there is a gulf in class between them and us. The signings of Ziyech and Werner will make our job easier. But whether it is enough is a matter of debate.

A return to the Champions League will certainly make it easier to attract top players. The Blues looked to have thrown away their advantage with the humbling loss at Sheffield United.

Thankfully for us, our rivals were just as gracious in dropping points. This ensured we remain in third spot.

Frank Lampard is keen to battle Liverpool and Manchester City at the top

With destiny back in our own hands, Chelsea cannot afford any more slip-ups. We end our season by playing both Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers. Not an enviable schedule by any means.

There is yet much to play for and Chelsea can start off by winning one game at a time.
