According to transfer expert Nicolo Schira, Chelsea are set to offer Kai Havertz a substantial wage if he makes the move to Stamford Bridge.
The 21-year-old is set to land a sweet payday that will net him €8million a year. Schira also went on to add that the Blues are currently talking to the player’s agent and will offer the player a five-year deal.
If it does come to pass, Havertz will be the third high-profile player to join the club in the summer. Chelsea have already signed Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner. It proves to be a busy summer at the Bridge as Marina Granovskaia aims big.
Havertz enjoyed an excellent season, scoring 17 goals and making 9 assists in 43 games. He also scored in the DFB Pokal final, although it did little to change the final result. (h/t Transfermarkt)
According to the Express, Chelsea see Havertz as the ideal upgrade on Ross Barkley. The England international is currently enjoying a fine run of games but has been woefully inconsistent since joining the club.
Bayer Leverkusen’s inability to qualify for the Champions League could be a determining factor in him deciding his future. It must, however, be mentioned that Leverkusen are still within a fighting chance of making the premier competition if they win the Europa League.
It promises to be a busy summer at Chelsea. The Blues have so far been very proactive with their summer dealings. It remains to be seen how it can help us close the gap at the top.
