Leroy Sane hints at Kai Havertz joining Chelsea

According to the Standard, Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane has hinted at Kai Havertz being on his way to Chelsea.

The flying winger joined Bayern from Manchester City recently. His international teammate could, however, move the other way by swapping the Bundesliga for the Premier League.

The Blues have been linked to Havertz for some time now. Frank Lampard and co. will push ahead with a move once Champions League qualification is achieved.

Chelsea need just one point from their final game of the season to secure a top-four finish. Wolverhampton Wanderers are going to present a formidable threat, but we should have enough in us to see it through.

However if Sane is to be believed, a deal for Havertz has already been agreed with the player set to join the Blues imminently. (h/t Standard)

“It’s good for Chelsea, that they signed two German top talents with Timo Werner and Kai Havertz this summer.”

If it comes to pass, Havertz will become the third high-profile transfer Chelsea have made ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Blues have already reinforced their frontline by bringing in both Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner. Adding Havertz to the mix will present us with a long-term core in terms of attacking prowess.

Havertz has enjoyed an excellent season at Leverkusen and has scored 17 goals and 9 assists from 43 games in all competitions. He is ready for a new challenge and is keen to play in Europe’s premier competition next season. (h/t Mirror)

There is no official word from either Chelsea or Leverkusen that a deal has been agreed. Hopefully, it is just a matter of time.

We are not sure if it was a slip of the tongue by Sane or if he just misspoke the words. However, none will begrudge him if his words turn out to be prophetic.
