Twitter reacts as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer lays blame on Frank Lampard antics for FA Cup loss
According to Sky Sports, Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has come up with more excuses following his team’s FA Cup loss to Chelsea.
Prior to the game, Lampard had told his players to be wary of Bruno Fernandes ‘dangling a leg’. He also questioned a number of ‘strange’ VAR decisions that benefitted United.
“But it seemed that little bit of influencing the officials worked. I don’t want to start criticising because it sounds like it’s sour grapes but it isn’t.”
The Norwegian had bemoaned what he presumed to be a beneficial schedule for Chelsea. The Blues were given two extra days of rest.
It conveniently ignores the fact that United have a bigger squad with fewer injury problems. Solskjaer’s inability to manage his squad better is a testament to his incompetence and not the schedule.
Lampard’s assessment on Fernandes also came true as the Portuguese tried to win a penalty with a dive that would have embarrassed even Micheal Phelps.
The Blues prevailed in spite of going in with a 38-year-old goalkeeper between the sticks and our best player Christian Pulisic on the bench.
Solskajer will be better served to focus on his own team. Had he made as much effort in preparing for the game than coming up with excuses, we wouldn’t have had a cakewalk in the semifinals.
A number of Chelsea fans took to Twitter to poke fun at the United manager’s excuses. We take a look at a few of them below.

This guy…. keeps making excuses and saying “that’s no excuse” and “it’s irrelevant”. Why isn’t he shutting up. Chelsea fans have moved on why can’t he?

got tactically outdone all game long with a midfield that cost nearly more than our whole lineup that day, norwegian smeagol pic.twitter.com/LEMQRTuJxX

At the end of the day, Manutd were shit and Chelsea bossed it from the first minute to the last. Only shot on target Manutd had in the second half was the penalty. A few yellow cards to Chelsea players wouldn’t change the result

Then Zaha should have been awarded a penalty in the Palace game. For every decision called against United, they’ve benefited twice as much.

Fred appeared to push Cesar Azpilicueta before Chelsea disallowed goal vs Manchester United…we were robbed twice in that match…

Ole is absolutely rattled.
“21 FOULS AND NO YELLOW CARDS!” yeah, because your players drop like flies every time a player comes close to them. Football is a contact sport, it’s pathetic the way your players go down.

United fans need to ask themselves what I asked of myself each of the 3 times chelsea was defeated by ManU this season. Even if certain fouls had been given and mistakes rectified would you still have done enough to win? The answer is a blatant no. You were shit. Move on now
