On the other hand, the Blues continue to be linked with goalkeeping reinforcements after Kepa Arrizabalaga’s inconsistent campaign till date.

Lampard, ahead of our FA Cup semi-final clash against Manchester United on Sunday, was quizzed about the possibility of signing the duo this summer. But the former midfielder refused to give anything away. (h/t Football.london)

“We’ll see, I can’t answer that one, we’re not there yet. If the squad needs strengthening or the balance needs changing, if it does and we make moves, great, but at the moment we don’t know.”

Chelsea have already completed the signings of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner from Ajax and RB Leipzig respectively. Adding someone of Havertz’s quality to the attacking department would take the team to a whole new level.

As far as Oblak is concerned, he is, without a doubt, one of the best in the business. There is no questioning that he would represent a major upgrade over Kepa.

It is reported that signing the duo could cost Chelsea around £200m. It now remains to be seen if the club is able to get either of these deals over the line.
